Korvo Mail Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Korvo Mail application for macOS, iOS and Android ("Korvo Mail" or the "App") and the /mail pages of korvo.xyz, operated by Snab Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 16006744), with its registered office at 27 Old Gloucester Street, London WC1N 3AX ("we", "us", "our"). By installing or using Korvo Mail you agree to these terms.

Korvo Mail is a separate product from the Korvo workspace application, which is governed by the terms at korvo.xyz/terms.

1. The Service

Korvo Mail is a local-first email client for Gmail and Google Workspace accounts. It runs on your device, stores your mail in a local database, and communicates directly with Google's APIs using credentials you authorise.

It supports Google accounts only. It is not an IMAP, Outlook or iCloud client.

2. Beta Status

Korvo Mail is in private beta and under active development. It is provided as-is, features may change or be removed, and availability is not guaranteed.

Two current limitations arise from Google's verification process rather than from us: access is capped at 100 users, and Google requires you to reconnect each mailbox roughly every 7 days. Both end when verification completes.

Do not rely on Korvo Mail as your only means of accessing important mail during the beta.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be 16 or older and able to form a binding contract. You need a Korvo account — Google sign-in or guest — to use the App. You are responsible for activity under your account and for the security of the device it runs on.

4. Connecting Google Accounts

You authorise mailbox access through Google's own consent screen. You warrant that you are entitled to access every mailbox you connect, and that doing so does not breach your employer's or organisation's policies.

You may revoke access at any time in the App or at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Your use of Gmail remains governed by your agreement with Google; these terms do not modify it, and we are not responsible for Google's service, its availability, its quotas or its policy changes.

5. Your Mail Is Yours, and It Is on Your Device

We do not hold, host or back up your mail. Your mail of record lives in your Google account; the local database is a cache and an index. You are responsible for your own backups. Loss, corruption or deletion of the local database does not affect the mail in your Google account.

As a factual property of the App rather than a promise: the App cannot permanently delete mail from your Google account, because it does not hold the permission that would allow it. See the privacy policy for the scope detail.

6. Price

Korvo Mail is currently free — no trial, no quota, no expiry and no payment details required.

We reserve the right to introduce paid plans in future. If we do, we will give notice in advance, and existing users may be offered continued access on the terms they signed up under. Nothing in this section is a promise of a permanent free tier.

7. Acceptable Use

You must not use Korvo Mail to:

• Send spam, bulk unsolicited mail, phishing messages or malware.
• Access a mailbox you are not entitled to access.
• Breach Google's terms, the Gmail program policies or any applicable law.
• Circumvent Google's rate limits or quotas.
• Reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the App, except as any applicable open-source licence permits.

We may suspend accounts that do.

8. Third-Party Services

Korvo Mail depends on Google's APIs and on Supabase for authentication. Their availability, terms and changes are outside our control, and interruption or change to those services may interrupt or change Korvo Mail. This includes your Workspace administrator's ability to block the App's access at any time.

9. Self-Hosting and Your Own OAuth Client

You may configure Korvo Mail with your own Google Cloud OAuth client. If you do, you are responsible for that Cloud project, its configuration, its costs and its compliance obligations. Support for issues arising from that configuration is provided on a best-efforts basis only.

10. Intellectual Property

The App, its name, its design and its brand remain the property of Snab Limited. Any open-source components remain under their own licences. You are granted a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App as intended.

Your mail remains yours. We claim no rights in it.

11. Updates and Availability

We may update, change or discontinue the App or any of its features. We do not commit to any uptime, support window or release schedule, and we may end the beta at any time.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, timely or error-free, that mail will synchronise promptly or completely, or that a sent message will be delivered.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Snab Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, use or goodwill, arising out of:

• Your use of or inability to use the App.
• Mail that fails to synchronise, synchronises late, or synchronises incompletely.
• A message that is not delivered, is delayed, or is sent from an unintended address.
• Loss or corruption of locally stored data, which is your responsibility to back up.
• Any change, outage, quota or policy decision by Google, including an administrator blocking the App.
• Unauthorised access to your device or account.

In no event shall aggregate liability exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights that these terms do not affect.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Snab Limited from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App in breach of these terms or of applicable law, including any claim that you accessed a mailbox you were not entitled to access.

15. Termination

You may stop at any time by disconnecting your accounts, revoking access at Google and uninstalling the App. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms or where required by law.

On termination, local data remains on your device until you delete it, and revoking Google access stops all further mailbox access immediately.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. The "last updated" date will change, and material changes will be notified in the App or by email. Continued use after a change means acceptance.

17. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings there where applicable law requires it.

18. Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. The unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.

These terms, together with the Korvo Mail privacy policy, are the entire agreement between you and us in relation to Korvo Mail, and supersede any prior understanding.

You remain responsible for your own regulatory obligations, such as any mail retention or archiving duties that apply to you. A local cache is not an archiving solution.
